Every week, Jana’s teacher comes up with a new seating plan, and every week, there is a different classmate who does not want to sit next to Jana. She’s used to it, she doesn’t know it to be any other way. But one day, Aleena joins her class, a self-confident girl from Afghanistan who shakes up the dynamics in the classroom. When both girls are invited to their conniving classmate’s birthday party, who is the most popular kid in class, Jana is suspicious for a reason. Her father cannot help her, he is busy trying to earn money playing computer games, and money is always too tight. But Jana has already found plenty of ways to help herself.
